Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional championship, took control to create a final set.
The opponent defended four early-game chances in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
